Courses are held in our Upper Hunter Moonan workshop and the Molong workshop in Central West NSW. The courses are not only about chairmanning but give the student an insight into working with traditional hand tools and developing a knowledge of that wonderful material called wood.
Courses include cleaving the log and axe, drawknife and adze work. You will be introduced to the skills of shaping a solid wood seat, the art of steam bending and the use of the foot operated pole lathe to make the decorative turnings – a skill that goes back over 2,000 years.
Duration of the course is 10 days. For further details contact us.
