Making a Windsor Chair

MarieLouise (Blog)In the April 2019 course we had another father and daughter join us to make a Windsor chair. Being a first timer Marie-Louise made a beautiful Double Bow Windsor with a crinoline stretcher and a pierced and carved centre splat in the back. The splat, armposts and back sticks were made from red stringybark saved from the family farm which she had grown up on in the Central West of NSW. Later that year Marie-Louise entered her (and Dad’s) chair in a Bathurst woodworking competition and won first prize and best in show!
